Child Protection & Safe Guarding
Child Protection is a fundamental aspect of our work and approach. It is our duty to promote, support and safeguard the wellbeing of all children, including those who are most vulnerable.
Everyone working with children and their families, including staff in Education Resources need to understand the important role that they play in remaining vigilant and providing robust support for child protection.
In terms of definitions:
- Child Protection is ensuring that all children and pupils are protected from abuse or neglect. There is a requirement for effective child protection procedures to be in place wherever there is a likelihood or risk of a child coming to significant harm.
- Safe Guarding is a much wider concept where the welfare of the child, pupil or vulnerable adult is promoted.
